A breast lift is a medical procedure in which the nipple is placed higher on the patient’s chest, therefore lifting the breast. This procedure treats sagging breasts as well as enlarged areolas which is the dark circle surrounding the nipple. So in summary, this surgery provides treatment for sagging breasts. Sagging occurs to due deformation that results from aging, gravity, breastfeeding or major weight loss/gain. For some cases, sagging may occur in the early ages in underdeveloped breasts. This may be due to genetic reasons.
Sagging breasts can easily harm a women’s self-confidence, making her feel insecure both naked and/or wearing clothes that highlight the décolletage area. In addition to psychological harm, sagging breasts can cause problems with the skin that gets left behind the breast as well due to rubbing. Skin here may get irritated.
Breast lift operations are usually done in combination with breast augmentation surgeries. A combination of these provides excellent results in giving patients the exact look that they desire. Usually what happens is that the breast tissue is reduced and the new skin has not adapted to this new small volume. So sagging is what occurs as a result of this. With breast augmentation surgery added into the mix, the reduced volume can be increased as well so that the patient comes out of surgery with volumptious, perky breasts that has defied the wear and tear of age and gravity.
It is important to note that only breast augmentation surgery can give volume to the breasts whereas as breast lift will simply lift sagging breasts and put them higher on your bosom.
• People whose breasts sagged after breastfeeding
• People with underdeveloped breasts
• People with sagging breasts due to frequent weight gain/loss or due to age and gravity
• People who suffer from low self-esteem due to sagging breasts who can’t wear the clothes they want or don’t feel like they look good naked.
During your consultation with the ITMT Group doctors, the first item to be clarified is whether the breast lift surgery will be accompanied with a breast augmentation surgery. The second factor our doctors look at is the nature of the patient’s skin’s elasticity, quality and how much excess skin there is. Where the incision will be made is determined according these conditions. If there will be no breast augmentation surgery then what happens is that excess skin is removed from the breasts and the surrounding tissues are tightened. This lifts the breasts up and gives them a perky look. There will be no change in the size of the breasts but the nipples will be higher on the bosom than where they were before. This surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia, especially if it is combined with a breast augmentation. Sutures are used in the closing us stage and they are placed depending on the new shape of the breasts.
If only breast lift surgery was performed without breast augmentation surgery, then our patients can leave ITMT Group facilities within the day of the operation. Patients can go back to their daily routines within one week after surgery with minimal scarring.
Due to the fact that this is a very popular surgery there are many new techniques, which a lot of women can be candidates for. These new techniques minimize scarring and drastically reduce the post-op recovery time. Vertical central pedicle technique is of these techniques that leave very little scarring. Patients experience less pain and do not lose any sensation in the aerola area with this technique.
