Forehead reduction which is also known as Hairline Lowering Surgery is a surgical procedure performed to bring the brow closer to the hairline, thus decreasing the size of the forehead. It basically shortens the distance between the eyebrows and where the hair begins. Some people have proportions that make the forehead area larger than it needs to be. Expected recovery time is anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks. Patients can return to daily activities and work the week of surgery. Swelling and bruising is normal and expected. They start to go down within a week or two. Keeping the head elevated is essential in order to help with swelling. Sleeping on a few pillows is a great idea during the course of recovery.
