Much like hair transplant, eyebrow transplant is the name given to the operation where a person’s own hair follicles are transplanted into the brow area to enhance the eyebrows.
• People who have scarce or thinning eyebrows
• People who lost their eyebrows due to genetic reasons or an accident
Eyebrow surgery can be performed under general or local anesthesia. The doctor will take hair follicles and individual hairs from a pre-determined donor site in the body, most likely from above the ears. These hairs will then be planted into the eyebrows. The process takes around 2 hours to complete.
Recovery is very simple and quick in this surgery. There will be some redness and scabbing in the donor and the transplant site. They will go away within a week or two. The transplanted hairs will fall out just like they do with a hair transplant however new hair will start to grow over the next few months after surgery. These new grown hairs may have to be trimmed in order to match the rest of the eyebrow hair.
